How to make your Eyes look Bigger

Large eyes give an impression of alertness, confidence, and they really help add to your look. And let's face it, we all want big fluttery Bambi eyes! It's important to know the main rule of Eye Enlargment (Sound's pretty painful, but don't worry, it's very simple).

Here it is:

White = Bigger
Black = Smaller

That's all there is to it. The more white makeup you use on your eyes, the bigger they will appear. Now, that doesn't mean that you can do this:

I'm just saying that you should think more along the lines of this:

Rather than this:

See? Black = Smaller, White = Bigger.

Why not give it a go? Post your before and after pictures, and show off your Bambi eyes.

Hope this was reasonably helpful!

Tutorial ~ New Year's Makeup

Right, so this isn't specifically New Year's Makeup, but I thought it was pretty, and wanted to give it a better title than "Random Makeup Look"!

You will need:

Black & White Eyeliner
Black & White Eye pencil
Black, White, Brown, Dark Purple & Navy Blue Eyeshadow
Any colour Lipstick ~ I used red.
Lipgloss
Blush ~ preferably a pinky/red, but this can be adapted depending on your skin tone.

Begin by  half-underlining the eye with the white eyeliner. Use the black eyeliner on the outer corner, forming a small wing. It can be tricky getting both sides symmetrical, so keep practising!

Use the white eye pencil on the inner corners of the eye. Use the black to form a small crease above the eyelid, as shown.

Now, this bit looks harder than it actually is. Start with the brown, and use one layer on either side of the nose. The white should be applied in a couple of layers, blending into the eye pencil, as shown. Build up a wing of black eyeshadow, up to the eyebrow, using graduating layers. Use one small layer of the purple in between the black, and skin, to blend the two. Use the navy blue at the top, just to blend a bit more. And finally, a tiny bit of white just underneath the eyebrow will be your highlight colour.

If you want, get any colour Luxe eyeshadow, and apply it over the black and purple eyeshadow. Then, click the undo button. The colour will disappear, but the sparkles will stay!

Yes, I am aware that the eyeshadow looks a total mess. But trust me, it looks great from a distance.

Use you lipstick, to form a pout.

Apply the lipgloss in the centre of the lips, as shown. Not too much, though.

Apply the blush under the cheekbones to add depth and shape to the face.

Add a couple of pairs of fake eyelashes (if you don't have these, mascara will work fine), some accessories, and you're done! I chose to go kind of vintage with this look, but it works great with all looks.

Hey, didn't I tell you the eyeshadow would look beautiful?

Rainbow Makeup!

I was incredibly bored, and so I created this cool, if slightly unusual look.

I partially got the inspiration from this, which looks amazing:

Hey Guys!

Hi Everyone, Just to let you all know, that I'm off to spend a week in Kilkenny with relatives, and I probably won't have access to a computer. So, there won't be any new posts for a week or so. Don't worry though, when I get back, everything'll be back up and running again.

See you soon,

Tutorial ~ Witch Makeup

Happy Halloween everyone!

Halloween is a time to go wild with the makeup and costumes, and so I have here a tutorial for Witch Makeup.

(For some more Halloween inspiration, click here.)

Here's the finished Witch makeup:

You will need:

Black, White, Khaki Green and Light Green eye pencil
Black Lengthening and Volumising Mascara
Medium Brown, Khaki Green, Black and White Eyeshadow
Orange Lipstick
Orange Lipliner (optional)
Lipgloss
Brown Blush

Start off with the eye pencil ~ A small line of white as shown, then a tiny bit of light green. Then apply the khaki green (the light green helps the white and khaki to blend). Finish with a large wing of black. Don't put very much on the top of the eye, just draw a straight line from above the pupil out as far as you can go.

Use the brown eyeshadow to create shadows around the nose. Apply a couple of layers of the khaki green, building up into a large wing, almost reaching the eyebrow.

Use the black eyeshadow to blend the black eye pencil into the khaki eyeshadow. Apply a small bit of white below the eyebrow as shown as a highlight, and use a tiny bit of the white on the eyelid as shown. Finish by adding a bit of black eyeshadow under the eye.

Colour the lip orange as shown, in a kind of a 'T' shape.

Apply the lipgloss over the orange area.

Use the blush in the hollows of the cheeks as shown.

Apply both mascaras. For accessories, I used a pair of Sunny Bunny lashes, and a pair of spooky contacts. Add a couple of warts if you want!

Happy Halloween!

And by the way, by doing this, I'm not saying that any of the medolls are ugly, all the medolls are pretty in their own way, I'm just styling them in my way :)

Left ~ Before
Right ~ After

I hope you guys enjoyed!
